| - News Update:
Republic City has gone through a lot of turmoil in the past few days. A plant monster resembling a faceless man emerged from the Spirit World, but was sent back thanks to some good old fashioned detective work by the RCPD. Unfortunately, immediately afterwards, the Purists attempted an assassination on Council Delegate Tenzin & stole documents from City Hall. They are also blamed for explosives planted in the homes of "Lightning Bolt" Zolt & Chief of Police Lin Beifong. The former is currently hospitalized, while the latter is missing. Saikhan will be named interim chief in her absence.
Council Delegate Saxeus assures us that this is just the desperate efforts of a dying gang, & his plan to eliminate them from the streets is working. He & Keter have taken a dive in the polls, Keter because Tarrlok reviewed newspaper clippings and discovered that she is the one who damaged the trees, causing the Spirit to become enraged. Noctis & Tenzin are still ahead of their respective opponents.
In sports news, the Dancing Dragons claim that Venezuela has really been making strides bending solid rock, & is now able to propel small rocks with force & accuracy. On a tangent, Gabe mentioned that a friend of hers had recently become proficient in lightning generation. Their next match will be against the Black Quarry Boar-q-pines. Our other group of underdogs, the White Falls Wolfbats have already defeated their opponents, the Laogai Lion Vultures, and one of these teams will be facing them in the finals.
Finally, it will be raining this morning, but is expected to clear up at night, & for several days afterwards.

| There was a pause which ended with the sounds of a chair being shifted away from the door and two different locks being undone. The door opened just enough for her face to be visible, allowing Roatha to see that she was pale, sweaty and her eyes were bloodshot. She spoke with a hoarse morning voice, "Would, uh, you like to come in?"
Dalia decided to go to the park, taking the newspaper and a sandwich with her.
