*The news broadcast will be starting soon.*


*The officer hauls the boy away to be processed. The other officers start setting up the crime-scene. Ryder comes up behind Enkidu.*

Ryder: "I leave you alone for just a few minutes. What happened?"

OOC: Maybe he is. Also, it wasn't said that he was out-of-sight yet.

*Senthose steals the gun because why not. He then makes his way to the home of that newscaster I no longer remember the name of.*

Astarte sat quietly.

Enkidu span around to meet Ryder, appearing to boil with rage for a few moments before calming down, "These kids told me to stop sticking my nose where it doesn't belong and attacked me."

Noct looked at Astarte, seeing as they had some time to kill before the broadcast started, "So, how did you enjoy your first day? Everything you were expecting it to be, I'm sure."

"I think it is nice here," Astarte replied, her eyes flicking from her coffee to Noctis. "I had never considered being the secretary, especially not of the CEO of something like Night Capital, so it is all quite new to me. I prefer it to any of my old jobs, though."
She took another long sip.

"Not to assume too much, but I figured you would enjoy the company here more than the company of drunks," Noct said.

Astarte allowed a relieved smile for a moment, "Yes, that is quite right."

"Speaking of, what do you think of the people you've met so far?" Noct asked.

"Oh, well..." Astarte gave a moment of consideration before continuing her reply. "Most of the people I have spoken to today have been on the phone, but I have briefly met a few other employees... who have been kind."

"I'm glad," Noct said, "I want you to enjoy your workplace. I know it is still work, but if you can enjoy yourself, well... that isn't so bad either, is it?"

"No, I think I will like it here," Astarte said before returning to her coffee.

"So, Astarte, what is it that you enjoy?" Noct asked.

OOC: Fuck, I don't even remember, I'll try to dig it up tonight.

*Senthose leaves the scene behind as sirens start filling the streets. A cop car is coming down the street towards him and slows down a little as it gets closer.*


*The newscast is all ready a minute in.*


*Ryder looks at the kids as the officers remove their masks.*

Ryder: "Well, they're not Haitians... but, they fit the description of the gunmen at the casino. So, they have it out for you. You gonna sit this one out?"

Noct is too busy hitting on her secretary to notice.

*Senthose keeps walking without acknowledging the Phantom Cop Car that somehow magically snuck up on him.*

"Uh," Astarte looked to the television and back to Noctis, feeling stupid for talking into the newscast. "It has started."

Noct let out a small sigh, and leaned back in her chair, to watch the broadcast.

*The car goes on its way towards the scene he left behind. Up ahead, someone is standing in the shadows of an alleyway. Their lit cigarette and eyes are the only thing he can make out to tell that they're looking right at Senthose.*


*Since they came in late. The broadcast covering their announcement is almost over.*

Anchor: "Strong words from a powerful company. I'm sure this election will be an extremely exciting one with the powerhouses of Stoneport coming together to bring a new wave of change. Keep an eye out for our follow up reports to be informed on if those changes will be good or bad for the future of Stoneport... In other news: local burger chain, Sloppy Meat, is filing for bankruptcy after a drastic decline in sales after numerous health violations were discovered at nearly every restaurant..."

"And what do you want?"

Astarte looked back to Noctis and finished her coffee.

Noct downed her's as well, then smiled, "Well, I think that'll just about wrap up today's workload." She began shutting down her computer after saving, and exiting various documents. After a small yawn she stood up and looked over at Astarte, "You don't have a ride home, do you?"

"No, I don't, but I am fairly accustomed to heading home late without a ride," Astarte replied. "Because of my old job, I mean."

"Well, I can't let that stand," Noct said, "I'll take you home with me." She took two steps from around her desk before stopping, and chuckling, "I meant to say I'll drop you off at your place. I didn't mean to imply that I would be taking you to my apartment. Far too soon for anything like that."

Astarte turned slightly pink again and nodded, "Okay. Thank you very much."

Noct smiled, "Don't mention it. It is the least I can do for such a hectic first day." By this point Noct had made her way over to the door and was holding it open for Astarte, "You did great by the way."
