Evangelion RP

Since this is a ways off, I figure I might as well make a Planning Topic. Obviously, this is in no sense a complete sign-up.

Synopsis
15 years ago, an event occurred that has been dubbed "Second Impact." The name comes because the official story is that it was a large meteor strike influential to human evolution, after the "First Impact" that killed the dinosaurs. The meteor hit the South Pole, destroying much of the ice, & causing massive flooding. A billion people died in coastal areas pretty much instantly. Between that & the problems that followed, half of the population was eliminated.

Eventually, the United Nations took control of the situation. Because the meteor contained a monster called an Angel, a task force called NERV was created to deal with these monsters, should any more come up. The rebuilt cities were also heavily fortified with unique defenses.

In the US, there are 2 NERV bases. NERV-01 in Mass. & NERV-02, formerly known as Area 51, in Nevada. After considerable argument, it was decided that command should be shared between the Japanese NERV base & NERV-02.

The Base
As a result of the flooding, Nevada is much closer to the coast, with many more rivers through it. The desert is now mostly confined to the area around the NERV base. An underground train system has been installed to quickly ferry personnel to & from the base, which is mostly underground, just a few missile turrets sitting up top.

Name: First & last.
Appearance: Clothing & physical features, including the coloration of the plugsuit, if an Eva pilot.
Age: Must have been born within a few years of Second Impact, if an Eva pilot.
Skills: Any skills the character brings to Nerv, particularly their occupation. Feel free to try for high positions, like "lieutenant commander of facility," & I'll tell you whether or not it'll work.
Bio: Personal history.
Personal items: Any carried items of sentimental or practical value.
Other: Miscellaneous information.

Evangelion
Designation: "Combat Type," "Prototype," etc.
Appearance: Coloration & look of the Eva's armor.
Custom Weapons: Any weapon particular to the Eva. Note that there is no truly unique equipment in the RP, this field just means that it will be automatically available to the Eva.
Custom Equipment: Evangelions are sometimes outfitted with special equipment over their existing armor to accomplish certain tasks. Note that there is no truly unique equipment in the RP, this field just means that it will be automatically available to the Eva.
Other: Miscellaneous information.

tbf on that end the Re:Build color scheme is the one it had before Rei's character development in the original anime. That and Unit 06 is dark blue so maybe they thought they'd be too similar?

I think I'd like a try on this. My character is most likely to be an Eva mechanic, or a technician, because I find the Evas that interesting. I'll post the character sheet once I have come up with said character.

Kind of hard to be a mechanic for something that's not a machine.

They still had technicians. Someone has to maintain those things.

True that the Evas aren't machines in themselves, but they got equipment such as armor and weapons, not to mention the elevators. I'm quite impressed of those as well as the hydraulics that moves the buildings up and down during attacks and whatnot.

There is of course a possibility to change him to engineer instead. But above all I should make the profile, it feels like his profession is kind of secondary given how long it takes me to create a character. ;>_>

It looks like the only thing I'm really missing before I could start this is some of the later scenario stuff.

Not quite a year since this was abandoned despite claims that it would be made.

Anywho, setting it after Third Impact is pretty dumb. Especially when all the Angels sans any Lilim that crawl out of the Sea of LCL have all been destroyed.

And the epilogue of the manga shows that the world returns to normal (or Japan does at least) after Third Impact except for the petrified Mass Produced Evas that no one can pinpoint the origin of scattered about.

Neo has played fast and loose with established canon before, don't see why he wouldn't again.

I think I might have intercepted Rebuild canon when trying to look up anime canon. The Wiki can sometimes be unclear about what comes from where.

I still don't have a main plot, maybe something will come to me after I finish the manga. Of course, there's still the matter of there being too many RPs for a new one.

Full blown Third Impact didn't occur in Rebuild either. And the planet got fucked up bad just from it partially occuring.

The source I read told me that was the order of the Impacts.

Some things are better in animated form when it's virtually the same fucking plot. Evangelion is one of those things.

Did you lie to me? I just caught up with Eva & got a big old "Continued in May" at the end.

That alone makes it better than Mangareader.
