Old Ones Return

*A black van pulls up near Azuma.*

*Salamon is visibly annoying the shit out of Euryale.*

E"Well, because you didn't, you're now being arrested, and maybe sent back to the Digital World. So maybe you should stop acting so superior, expecting everyone else to solve your concerns, because it probably isn't gonna help you any more than it did the first time."

*One of the Hypnos guys shoves her into the van and orders Agumon to follow her, de-Digivolve, and sit on her lap. Agumon glares at him, but complies. They notice that there is a long row of Hypnos vans, with dozens of personnel converging on the spot from all over the park.*

Salamon: "If you can't recognize that going to the place they always find us is a bad idea then that's your problem. Not even your biggest problem with that poison still in you."

Hitomi: "Salamon, that's enough!"

Salamon looks up at Hitomi, more surprised by her raising her voice than being scolded and just slouches in Hitomi's arms.

Patamon: "That doesn't look good."

Azuma: "Man, can they get anymore obvious? Why not a vehichle one would expect in the area they're creeping about? Like if I'm in a residental area, I wouldn't expect a garbage truck to have some government jerks in it."

Patamon: "I stopped listening after that first part."

Azuma: "Thanks. Well, let's see what they want."

Azuma stands up, taking his drink with him. Patamon takes flight at waist height.

*Kylie sits near Euryale, and Lunamon gives her a thumbs up*

Lunamon:<I wonder if they are going to send us back.>

*Kylie hugs Lunamon tightly*

*They are brought back into the parking deck. As they approach it, a grate saying that the deck is temporarily closed lifts to admit them. As such, when they reach the bottom, it's fully lit, and surrounded by Hypnos personnel. The van stops, & Yamaki approaches their window, already messing around with his lighter.*

Yamaki<Why am I not surprised to see you back here for another secrecy breach?>

Lunamon:<Because we get attacked a lot?>

They all remain silent, Taiyo holding Renamon's hand.

It's a long walk/flight to the van.

Tamer<Bullshit, you attacked me.>

Yamaki<This is more-or-less true. Our recording records show that you sought her out. Before this, she was only a minor criminal, and not particularly violent. In other words, you made the situation worse, and exposed yourselves to a large number of people.>

*A woman with a brown bob, but otherwise a typical-looking Hypnos employee steps out.*

<You there. We're doing an investigation on Tamer activity in the city. I'll need to examine your D-Power. It should only take a few minutes.>

Kylie:<We went looking to talk. You and Taiyo got into a fight and then you attacked us with your digimon.>

Lunamon:<We only exposed ourselves when we had no other choice.>

They still remain quiet.

Azuma: "And what might you do with it, if I may ask?"

<We're going to look into its records to determine what cards have been used on it.>

Tamer<Maybe I didn't want to talk to you jerks.>

Yamaki<Quiet. Our recordings indicate that you were aware of a crowd building for at least 15 minutes, but made no attempt to relocate or suppress the release of information.>

Lunamon:<Fine, we knew that the crowd was building, and yet we didn't do the smart and get the check out of there.>

*Kylie' s voice is very quite*

<(We're sorry.)>

Salamon: "Hard to call a time out in the middle of a battle."

Azuma: "That's it? Well, unless someone had it before I did, I've used none."

Tamer<Didn't you hear the Head Hypnos Dude? You started it.>

*He looks at her.*

Yamaki<All of your excuses aside, I'm afraid we can no longer allow you to run about freely.>

<It's a standard procedure. I have a job to do.>

*She holds out her hand for the device.*

Lunamon:<Are you going to send us back to the digital world?>

Taiyo's grip on Renamon's hand tightens.

Taiyo: "Are we going to jail or something?"

Azuma: "Yes, I understand, and I'm sure you understand why I'd be weary of people in strange vans and blatant profilling."

Patamon: "Are you hoping she'll be annoyed by you and leave?"

Azuma: "A little."

Yamaki<I can't even believe I'm suggesting this...must be going soft...we can give you all one more chance. As Hypnos interns.>

Taiyo: "Thank you."

Azuma begins unhooking the D-Power from his belt loop.

Azuma: "What if I started making loud, obnoxious noises?"

*Kylie and Lunamon look at each other*

Lunamon:<Really?! Thank you!>

*Lunamon would have hugged the guy, if Kylie hadn't been holding on tight*

Yamaki<Don't make me regret this. One more debacle like today, and you're out of here. Now come inside headquarters, we have to show you around.>

*He enters the elevator.*

*Kylie and Lunamon enter behind him*

The others follow.

Azuma: "Yeah, yeah."

He hands her the D-Power.

Tamer<Whatever.>

*Yamaki shows them the computer cubicles, which he says not to touch, the coffee room, which he says is going to be the location of most of their assignments, the locker rooms, the door to the storage room, which he also says not to touch, the files, again don't touch, & the Digimon training room, which is a large jungle gym type area behind thick glass, inside of which a pair of Tamers can be seen sitting on a bench as a Raidramon shoots lightning at FBI-style targets & a Monmon can be seen going back & forth on monkey bars. Finally, he shows them the main Hypnos computer, a large screen taking up the circular room displaying a gridwork & a pair of chairs on a cherry picker occupied by 2 women, a brunette with a bob & a redhead with long hair, with some kind of metal visors over their eyes.*

Yamaki<The main Hypnos computer. Don't touch this either.>

*She takes the D-Power & disappears into the back of her van for a good 20 minutes.*

Taiyo: "Are we being employed here?"

Azuma: "Guarantee there doing things to it."

Patamon: "Like what?"

Azuma: "Hidden camera, microphone, maybe explosives, the kind of crap governments do because they don't trust their people."

Lunamon:<What can we touch?>

Kylie:<I think we are unpaid interns.>

*The woman soon returns, handing him the D-Power back.*

Yamaki<You can touch anything in the break room, or the training room. Specifically the coffee machine, because you are mostly going to be getting coffee. Since this is functionally community service for your public disturbance today, no, you will not be getting paid.>
