This is a paper on the origin of homosexuality, but not just any paper, this is what we call a "meta-analysis." A meta-analysis is a comprehensive review of all of the data available on the subject. If anyone claims to have the final word on a subject & does not at least show a meta-analysis, I pretty much just laugh at them. I wanted to preserve this page because I think it really examines every avenue of research, along with their respective strengths & weaknesses. In my experience, the people who want to say things like "it's a choice" won't even read it, but maybe you're just curious.

The basic idea is that a man's fitness is determined by social hierarchy. Men who do very poor in the social hierarchy have more to lose by being challenged by women, as they not only lose status, they also indicate that a woman can acquire more status on their own than by mating with this guy. Since they can't suck less, they seek to discourage women from competing to prevent these things. But a man who is already socially dominant can make himself even more desirable by trying to attract a woman with positive attention.

This effect would occur regardless of whether or not anyone was actively trying to score a mate.

So calling them n00bs is actually a totally legitimate response?
