War On Crime

<Oh, I'm Eve. I only met Thiera and Aroma early today.>

*She holds out her hand to Ven*

Taiyo: "I'm gonna go back inside. Talk to you later."

And she goes back inside because her job depends on it.

No updates. On the way there, a motorcycle passes, some aryan-looking pretty boy with a fat lip riding it.

*Boredly waiting to get there*

OOC: Guess I'm skipping Astarte, then.

A"O--okay...."

V"Uh, hi."

*She administers the classic Dead Fish Handshake. Aroma turns to her.*

A"So...what do you want to do until Taiyo gets off?"

The cab stops a block away from where the whole thing went down. The cab driver stops the meter and tells them how much.

*Eve smiles, but it's really awkward and she's obviously uncomfortable*

<Shouldn't we wait for Thiera?>

*Amanda pays her third, glaring at Artemis*

<There goes my new dress. You owe us big time.>

June gave over her share and offered a mock-glare to Artemis, "Yeah. But I don't want you to make it back to me, I'll just hold it over you until I forget."

"You get free lessons from my mom, what more do you want from me?"

*She pays & hops out.*

A"If she wants to contact us, she'll call."

Assuming they go beyond the taxi, and to the spot where bad things happened, they'll see a hole in the ground with barricades and caution tape all around it. Not that someone took heed of this as the tape is ripped and a barricade is pushed aside.

"You don't want to go underground, right?" June asked at the sight of it.

<From your mom, not you.>

*Amanda takes one look at the hole*

<You've got to be joking.>

Eve:<Right...>

"I don't know. It doesn't look like anyone's guarding it, but we don't know what's down there."

*She looks at June.*

"You turn into water. Maybe you could get close enough to take a peek."

V"I don't know...what's going on at campus?"

A"I don't know."

*Ven rubs her eyes.*

"Y'know it feels fucking weird being a puddle, you owe me even more now," June turned a slow 360 on the spot. "Any witnesses around? Any cameras?"

Few if any people are wandering the streets, although there is a big empty van across the street.

A car drives by with a big TB on the side.

Eve:<We found a dead drug addict and had a run in with the police.>

Amanda:<I could try setting up a barrier around you that reflects light. It might not work that well though.>

*She shrugs*

"I'll go check that van, just to be sure."

*So she does that, looking for any kind of recording equipment. She signals with a thumbs up or thumbs down.*

*Ven stops massaging the bridge of her nose & looks up.*

V"What? That's not what I meant, but--what?"

A"It was another Domino-related death. The police questioned us about it, & then we went to look for Thiera. Eve...found out, somehow. She's a mutant too."

*They both look at Eve now.*

A"I didn't have time to waste, so I brought her along."

V"Hey, that's between you & Thiera."

The van shows no signs that anyone uses it frequently other than the dirt on the floor mats. No trash or whatever else people might have in their vehicles, let alone recording equipment.

June squatted down next to the hole when she could see nobody else on the street and spat into it- the stream coming out more like a water pistol shot- to hear how deep it went and whether it was liquid or solid at the bottom by the splash.

*Eve rubs the back of her neck, looking a little embarrassed*

<Oh, I thought...Nevermind. Now that Aroma's told you my secret, are you a mutant as well?>

*She says that looking at Ven*

*Amanda keeps watch, and nods at Artemis*

<Looks like a go. Whenever you're ready.>

The bottom can be seen without looking like a slob. Aside from a large segment of cement cut from the sidewalk, it's wet as a sewer often is. Getting down for anyone of them is no problem. Getting up unassisted is not.

*Ven glares darkly at Eve.*

V"That's none of your business. Why are you snooping around us, anyway?"

*Artemis goes to wait with Amanda.*

"Where are all of the cops, anyway?"

June froze the water for a few feet around the cement in the sewer, look a last glance around, then splatted suddenly into a puddle of water which poured over the edge of the hole to land on the cement below. Once still June waited a few moments to see if she felt anything coming to investigate.

*Eve holds up her hands, looking away from Ven*

<I was just curious, sorry if I offended you. Aroma already told you I was a mutant. And to answer your question, I'm here because...I'm interested in getting to know other mutants. Especially Thiera.>

*Amanda watches June, wrinkling her nose*

*She gestures at the puddle that was June*

Ain't no one coming to investigate every drip and drop that happens in a sewer. Assuming she has no form of sight or if she reforms, she can or will see a pile of debris ahead of her. Some of it has been shoved aside for someone to shimmy through it.

June did indeed reform after a wait and looked around. Noticing the gap in the debris she approached it and peeked through.
