Episode Three: Beneath the Deep

The Coelamon again, tanks Lekismon's attack, the other two not having the luxury of being pelted with an easy to defend against attack show some wear and tear for it.

They open their mouths and begin pelting them with water bullets while Kyubimon runs along the shore, Shellmon firing a stream of water at her.

What's left of the roof groans and sinks as Dorugamon lands then caves in as some enormous jackass bird lands on it dropping them in the front hall of the mansion inches away from a large, exposed elevator shaft.

When the dust settles, they can see BlackWarGreymon staring at them through a large hole in the wall.

Hitomi and Gatomon rejoin the two, the creatures backing off a bit.

Azuma: "Hm? They're less daring now."

Hitomi: "You're an interloper. They just want me."

Azuma: "That's not happening. If they don't want me interfering, their god should've sent something that isn't afraid of my...our guardian angel."

*Lekismon uses MoonNight Bomb to put the Coelamon to sleep, then kicks at one's chest with MoonNight Kick*

*Eve stands up*

<Hello?>

*Roatha is reading his D-Terminal.*

R"It says he's a 'Mega.' What the Hell is that?"

D<Arguably the highest & most powerful stage of Digivolution. Saberdramon & I are Champions. Then comes Ultimate. Then Mega.>

They're asleep and Lekismon cuts herself on the Coelamon she kicks. There's also the problem of the Shellmon spraying jets of water at them like a bastard.

From behind the group comes a flash of light.

BlackWarGreymon staggers, staring at Dorugamon almost like it might know him.

BlackWarGreymon: "The First Knight?"

The creatures grow bolder attempting to advance despite Angemon and Gatomon's attacks and the light of their jewelery. One in particular advances.

It stands over the others almost upright as opposed to the others which almost crawl along the ground although its movements are still spastoc and unpredictable. It also does not bear a spiral around its wrist.

Angemon unleashes a Heaven's Knuckle, the light from his bracelet radiates and explodes outwarda in a blinding light.

"What does that mean?"

<No idea. He probably thinks that I'm a different Dorugamon.>

"There are more of you? I thought that was your name."

<It is.>

"Oh, I see...I'm very confused."

Terriermon:<We don't really have names like you do.>

Eve:<I hope he's friendly.>

The light fades and Azuma, Hitomi, and their partners are left behind, shielding their eyes from the sun. They see the sleeping Coelamon and angry Shellmon.

Azuma: "This is how you welcome us back?"

Kyubimon launches a volley of fireballs at Shellmon while Angemon takes flight, drawing a halo above himself with his finger which then surrounds a Coelamon and closes around it, cutting it in half.

Gatomon runs out passed the sleeping Coelamon, towards the Shellmon jumping at the shoreline.

Hitomi: "Digimental Up."

The Digimental of Reliability emerges from the Digivice and explodes into multiple expanding pieces as Gatomon's body begins to grow taking on a more aquatic appearance, the pieces of Digimental grafting to her body.

???: "Reliable Wave, Tylomon!"

Tylomon crashes into the water and races towards Shellmon, the large blade on her back sticking put of the water like a shark fin.

It looks to Terriermon in the same manner as it did Dorugamon then looks away shaking its head, regaining some composure.

BlackWarGreymon: "Sarah and Dimitri are gone."

Saberdramon:<Who are you talking about?>

*Lekismon uses MoonNight Bomb to put Shellmon to sleep as well*

E"'Reliable Wave'? That was the worst thing I've ever heard."

L<SUNSHINE BEAM!>

*Since her attacks go faster with more distance, Sunflowmon flies up & forward, blasting at Shellmon. Meanwhile, Growlmon stands over the Coelamon & blasts them with fire.*

R"Never mind that. Hey, what went on here? And have you seen some other humans, like us? They kind of disappeared on us."

Azuma: "At least we have something that fairs well in the water."

The Coelamon explode into data while the Shellmon roars, blasting Sunflowmon with a jet of water.

Tylomom raises her head from the water and fires a torpedo at Shellmon while Kyubimon sends another volley of fireballs.

BlackWarGreymon turns away from them.

BlackWarGreymon: "A pursuit for power...Not for many years."

It begins flickering in and out like a television set with a bad signal.

R"That didn't make sense. Hey, is something wrong with you?"

*Dodge. Counterattack. Growlmon sees if he can get his arm blade thing to reach that far.*

*Lekismon fires a storm of arrows at Shellmon*

Eve:<I don't think so...>

Cameron:<Maybe we should get out of here.>

It can't. And Shellmon regresses into its shell, the arrows harmlessly bouncing off. Tylomon fires another torpedo, rocking the shell. Multiple cracks appear throughout it.

It begins to say something, but flickers out and disappears.

*SUNSHINE BEAM!*

R"Well, that can't be good."

D<I don't think there's any way we can help.>

*Lekismon uses MoonNight Kick on the center of the cracks*

Eve:<We'll have to add him to the list of things to ask Zarek about that he probably won't answer.>

The cracks get bigger until a second torpedo from Tylomon causes it to shatter and break apart leaving a fleshy pink creature behind that dissolves into data after another volley or fireballs and a Heaven's Knuckle.

Taiyo flops down in the sand.

Taiyo: "I was really looking forward to enjoying a nice sandy beach."

They're now standing in front of a ruined mansion in a battletorn cemetery.

BlackWarGreymon walks through a decrepid village, stumbling every other step. Passing a fence bearing a [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], it becomes aware of the creatures hiding within the age worn houses, sensing their fear.

From the town it comes to the beach where other creatures reside in the ocean's black waters, the tops of their heads visible, their yellows eyes fixed on the Black Knight.

On the beach, it spots a gravemarker reading Carly & Megan. True Love Never Dies and a sand castle at the base.

BlackWarGreymon roars in fury, halting at the sound of a wet laugh.

"Aww, sorry, Taiyo."

*Euryale reaches for her stomach, but stops herself & pulls back, rubbing Taiyo's arm, instead.*

R"Seems that way. For now, let's just head back."

*Eve nods and the pair get on Saberdramon, who then takes off back towards the beach*

*Lekismon hops back to the beach then dedigivolves. Kylie picks her up and hugs Lunamon tightly*

Kylie:<You guys did so well!>

*She turns to Azuma and Hitomi*

<You're back! What happened?>

Taiyo looks a little hopeful at Euryale, putting an arm around her waist.

Taiyo: "Maybe we still can."

Azuma: "Got taken to a dark place inhabited by monsters."

And so begins the long flight back the way they came.

???: "You wish to be reunited with your partner after all these years of seperation, correct?"

BlackWarGreymon: "What is this? Who are you?"

???: "This is my kingdom. No force has any reign other than myself. I am these creatures ruler. Their god. And I know the way to the Material World. I hold the key. The key I am more than willing to give to you. For a small fee."

"BlackWarGreymon: "Name it."

???: "Slay the current bearers of Hope & Light."

BlackWarGreymon: "The First Knight and Dragon Emperor."

???: "They are not the ones you know. The Dragon Emperor died long ago while the First Knight is aged and bitter, forever trapped in its Rookie form. You are the only one who has gone to do great things. And for the price of a little blood, your dreams will come true."

BlackWarGreymon stares at its claws, trembling.

BlackWarGreymon: "There is enough blood on these hands. And you want me to tarnish these claws with the blood of humans?"

The creatures begin to emerge from the ocean, advancing on BlackWarGreymon who roars in fury before slaughtering the creatures that come towards it, the things disappearing in whiffs of smoke as the Dramon Killers effortlessly glide through them.

The scene shifts and warps until BlackWarGreymon is standing in the center of a coliseum.

E"Maybe. But I don't know, it's not exactly safe."

*Sunflowmon reverts & lands in Aroma's arms. She approaches Azuma & Hitomi.*

A"Is...is everything alright...?"

Lunamon:<We should probably get out of here once the others get back.>

Azuma: "For now at least. It wasn't pleasant, but we made it out in one piece. With another Digimental."

Taiyo: "And go where?"

Azuma: "That is true. There's the creepy forest and across the monster ridden ocean."

Patamon: "And I'm hungry."

They're flying over the Great Canyon.

A"I'm so sorry you had to go through all of that...."
