Old Ones Return (III)

*Cameron tries not to look as uncomfortable as he feels*

Biyomon:<You two are so cute together.>

OOC: Homophobe.

*Euryale is too busy consoling Taiyo to catch that, so instead she just steers Taiyo towards the exit.*

A<So who's our ride?>

Patamon: "The big awkward bird. Or the big awkward dinosaur."

*Biyomon digivolves to saberdramon, while Cameron takes the Pagumon*

<I'll take you back!>

*They get back & head through the Digital Gate, everyone quite uncomfortable. Kurata adjusts his glasses as they come through.*

Kurata<I've made a determination: The Blue Card was downloaded into Euryale by the Digi-Gnomes. This is how it is possible for it to always appear on her person in the Digital World, but otherwise be unattainable. It also means that it is useless to try to take it from her.>

Azuma: "My theory was it could only exist in the Digital World. Guess I wasn't too far off."

Kylie:<So only she can use it?>

E"No, it would be that only I could access the file. I could send it wherever I wanted."

Kurata<Didn't expect you to pick up on that.>

Kylie:<Oh.>

*Lunamon still looks upset*

Azuma: "Neat. Anywho, that place we went to was pretty nifty and we got a couple of Digimon in need of homes."

Kurata<Yes, yes, just take them to the training room with the other Digimon. Then send your pictures to this number-->

*He hands them a piece of paper.*

Kurata<And we will take care of the rest.>

Cameron:<I'll do that.>

*Cameron takes the Pagumon to the training room*

Azuma: "Looks like that's all there is to do then. See ya'll tomorrow."

Azuma and Patamon begin leaving. Hitomi looks at Taiyo who's not quite hanging off of Euryale before her and Salamon begin to leave.

*The training room is full of wrecked equipment & the ToyAgumon & Geckomon basically running around like animals. When the Pagumon are let in, a couple cluster around for a look, but all quickly head off & ignore them.*

E"So we're done here?"

Kurata<Well, I did hear about a few battles...?>

E"It wasn't the soldiers. We saw no sign of them!"

Kurata<Excellent! You are free to go.>

*He claps, & rubs, his hands together.*

Azuma: "She seems awfully down about what happened in the cave."

Hitomi: "Yes. She feels responsibile for orphaning the two Digimon. We were attacked and Renamon acted as any other would do."

Azuma: "I hear that. I'm certain it'll be okay in the end."

Hitomi: "And if it's not?"

Azuma: "Then it's not the end."

T"You did what?"

E"Hey, listen, you don't know what--"

*Thiera strides to the front of Euryale, who holds her hands up in a "slow down" gesture.*

T"ACTUALLY, I think I do. Correct me if I'm wrong, but--"

E"Okay, well--"

T"IT SOUNDS TO ME like you attacked first & didn't ask questions!"

*Thiea points at Euryale. Kurata slinks back into the shadows & watches this fight unfold.*

E"She feels really guilty, &--"

T"Well, goody-goody gumdrops for her! I bet that's SO much worse than being dead!"

*She tosses her arms up in the air before pulling slightly on her hair. Euryale points to Thiera, glaring.*

E"I think you need to settle down."

T"What are you going to do to make me? Beat me up?"

*She steps forward, standing on her tip-toes to get right in Euryale's face.*

T"Do it. That seems to be all that you're good for."

*Euryale seems insistent on not backing down until Wizardmon comes over to stand by Thiera & put an arm around her shoulder. Reluctantly, Euryale backs off.*

E"Come on, Taiyo, we don't need this."

T"Good! I don't need you either! I don't even know why I came back on this team! You--you break my partner's wing, then you--do THIS...is it any small wonder why Digimon don't seem to like you? Why do I even want to help you? How am I supposed to if you're just going to do the--the fucking things that I warn against in the first place!?"

Renamon stands beside Euryale.

Azuma: "You want to settle down before I break something else of your partner's?"

Patamon: "What?"

Hitomi: "Don't do this."

Taiyo: "We didn't attack first..."

Taiyo takes Renamon's hand begins following Euryale out, assuming she's leaving.

*Thiera whirls around & advances on Azuma.*

T"You've got a problem with me, Big Man? Well, I'm right here. No sense resorting to back-handed, cowardly threats. I'll have it out, I'm not afraid of you."

Wizardmon<And I now have the power to turn you into a toad even if I did suspect that she might not be able to take you. So I'd highly suggest you don't do anything stupid, because frankly, I don't know why I'm not already cursing your ugly face.>

*Wizardmon holds out a hand in their general direction, which glows green. Euryale, Taiyo, & Renamon are now in the elevator.*

E"Should...should we really be leaving them like this?"

Taiyo: "Probably not. But what can we do?"

Azuma: "You shouldn't even have to ask. I do have a problem with you and your holier than thou attitude. We were much better off without you, your antisocial partner, and your unwarranted sense of superiority. Why not do us all a favor and go back to the other team?"

Hitomi tugs on his sleeve, trying to get his attention.

Patamon: "Hey dummy dummies, finish your cat fight tomorrow."

E"I guess you're right...I'm sorry you had to sit through this whole outburst."

*The door slowly starts to close, but not before they witness the end of this confrontation.*

T"You threaten my partner, then you have the gall to sit there & act all humble with me? Oh, funny how SHE'S always the one who deserves to get hurt. Is it 'cause she won't play ball with you? I wonder why. Yeah, I bet you were better off. You're a real piece of work, you know that? Trust me, this is beyond over! Wizardmon, let's go."

*She turns around & snaps her fingers. Wizardmon imitates the gesture, & they both disappear in a puff of smoke.*

Taiyo: "It's okay. It was bound to happen anyways."

Renamon: "Did I do something to upset you, Taiyo?"

Taiyo: "I don't know. You were protecting me as you always do. You're my guard puppy after all."

Renamon looks away, embarrassed.

The others get into another elevator, Azuma leaning again the back wall with a sigh.

Azuma: "That could've gone worse. I could've got punched again."

Hitomi: "You did provoke her."

Azuma: "She jumped down Taiyo's throat without even knowing the whole story. The last thing Taiyo needs is any other reason to feel rotten."

"By the Gods, I certainly agree, but I don't think a full-scale brawl was wise. I don't want to defend Thiera, I definitely think she was out-of-line, but anger is one of the 5 stages of grief."

*Agumon looks back & forth at them all.*

A<I don't really see what we're trying to hide? You killed the Digimon, we all know it happened. What difference does it make if I say you orphaned them, or Thiera says you should have held back the force of your attacks if you didn't want to? Those are the facts. It's not going to change what happened to avoid talking about it.>

"I might have taught Agumon to reach the 'Acceptance' stage a little TOO quickly."

Taiyo: "No one's avoiding it? Even if I'm not talking about it, it doesn't mean I'm not thinking about it."

A<I still don't really understand.>

E"I'll explain it to you later. Taiyo, I'm really sorry this happened to you, is there ANYTHING I can do to make you feel better?"

Taiyo bites her lip then gives her head a shake, dispelling most of her dirty thoughts.

Taiyo: "If you have time before you have to go home could we just hang out somewhere?"
