Mortal can see the bolt of lightning through the fog, and goes off towards it, "They're in trouble."

Noct is in her room, laying in bed, reading a book, "Is something wrong?"

*Euryale & Roatha follow, Euryale thrusting her arms out. This causes the mound of rock that the spirit is in to fling itself through the fog. It can be heard splashing into the river.*

"Gabe won't answer."

*Tirea yells in the direction of Mortal & friends*

Astarte returned a little wave to Monu and left, heading just over to her house. She made some tea and put the radio on, trying to decide what to do with her day.

Dalia began heading home, desperately wanting a shower. The soft, sweet fragrance she had when she came to work had been overpowered by the smell of hard work. As usual she looked out any Purist that wanted to mess with her.

"What are you two doing here?" Mortal asked.

"J-jogging," Gabe replied, "Where did that thing go?"

"Maybe she is caught up in something that kept her away from the phone. I'm sure it is nothing to worry about," Noctis said, "We can take a drive down there to check on her if you want."

*Dalia is [s]attacked by 40 Vanessas[/s] able to get home without incident.*

There have been 10 more Purist arrests today, putting the grand total of apprehended suspects at 28. Though there are still many more in the gang, at this rate, they are expected to be virtually eliminated in about a month.

*Suddenly, the Spirit sprouts up in the middle of them with almost no time for anyone to react. Euryale aims a punch at it, but jerks back when it [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] & she can see pieces of the metal breaking off. Roatha blasts it in the shoulder with a stream of fire & it slinks to the side, one of its tentacles & a small shred of its suit burned off to reveal white underneath. The suit begins growing back.*

R"So it can be hurt by firebending!"

E"Less talk, more action!"

*She kicks dirt in its non-face, the dirt turning into spikes as it flies at the Spirit.*

*Tirea does her ice needles again, aiming for the thing's head*

Astarte drank her tea, and decided to go for a walk to the bay.

Dalia immediately got in the shower.

Mortal and Gabe both aim streams of fire at the spirit's face.

"Well, honestly," Noct motioned to her bed, "I'm quite comfortable right now. I'll go, if you want, but I don't really want to head out right now."

*It reaches through the flames, grabbing Mortal by the throat & lifting her into the air. Its blank head is pitted with a number of small holes & burn marks, but already starting to clear. Euryale shouts & tries to hack into its arm with a katar, but barely puts a nick in it before she's slapped aside by a tentacle. Roatha charges up a lightning bolt, but stops when something invisible pulls on his elbow. The others feel similar sensations.*

"Well...if you don't think it's necessary...."

*She turns & begins walking down the hall.*

*Along her walk, Astarte sees a Sky Bison take off from Air Temple Island. Then something very strange happens. When she looks back, there are a trio of Foggy Swamp Benders that weren't there before.*

<Hey, little lady. Wanna see a magic trick?>

*Tirea looks around to see what touched her*

"No, thank you," Astarte said, stepping back away from them.

Gabe jumps at the touch and looks to see what it was.

Mortal tries to cut off the arm with a blade of flame.

Noct goes back to her book.

*As mentioned previously, they are invisible. What can be seen is their body parts disappearing into thin air, as though being pulled through an unseen doorway. Roatha, understandably, yanks back. His sleeve from the elbow down disappears into the unknown, but he manages to get away. He turns, charging a bolt of lightning on each hand & adds them to Mortal's attack. They successfully cut off the monster's arm, which chips apart & scatters in the wind. Tentacles emerge from the stump, waving around wildly & wrapping around each other.*

R"We actually hurt it...maybe we can beat this thing."

E"Maybe, but maybe we should focus on getting to safety."

*Another Foggy Swamp bender grabs her arms from behind, as there is a second trio behind her.*

<You're always hanging around with those cops, the ones after the tall man spirit. If we ransom you, surely they'll tell us what they know. If we can just give Senthose the secret to controlling it, I'm sure we'll be back in his good graces.>

<You're thinking out loud again.>

*Tirea jerks away and sends the nearby plants at the thing*

Gabe also jerks away from that crap then says, "I agree with Euryale, safety sounds great!"

Mortal shoots a stream at the things tentacle arm for good measure, then starts to back away.

Astarte immediately clenched her fist and swung an uppercut into the Swamp Bender's jaw. At the same time the action brought several thin spikes of water shooting up through the gaps in the dock around the Swamp Benders.

*They also lose various fragments of clothing, though probably not enough for anyone to care. Grass does not seem to phase it. And so they run. As they run, they come to a copse of trees. The spirit once again rises up in front of them, this time fully healed.*

*She doesn't manage to hit him, because he's holding on to her arm. He does, however, let go when he's stabbed in the foot. Still, the swampbenders are all quite angry at being stabbed, so they jerk their hands back & lash at her with water whips.*

*Tirea pulls the water from the tree and sends it at the spirit*

Astarte dived for the edge of the dock, at the same time lifting a large amount of water up to catch her which would then drop down into the bay.

Mortal shoots another blast of flame at it, but Gabe doesn't even bother, skidding to a halt and breaking off to run in a different direction.

*The spirit ignores everyone but Tirea. The lower part of its face splitting into a silent roar, it's on her in a second, & smacks her so hard she goes skidding into the copse of trees, which it then rushes into, Euryale hot on its tail.*

*From this vantage point, she sees 4 more Foggy Swamp Benders clinging to the underside of the dock. Figuring out what's going on, the ones up top hold out their hands, trying to freeze the water around her to keep her from escaping.*

*Tirea scrambles to her feet and pulls more water from the trees, then sends it at the spirit*

Astarte cried for help and tried to smash the ice as it formed and move further away.

*The bark cracks off of the trees as they wither at the point of the draw & bend in half. Euryale lassos the the monster around the neck, but it quickly wraps a tentacle around the metal & dissolves the end of the whip. Then it runs right through the attack, now becoming much more violent. It lashes at Tirea from behind, on either side, with tentacles, & tries to bring one of its clawed hands down on the top of her head. Euryale, of course, launches a second shot, but this one disappears into thin air, & she's forced to sever the cable to avoid being drawn into the Spirit World.*
