AlsoI wouldn't hold my breath on that Eva RP. Since the creation of the planning thread there has been no further discussion regarding it.

I prefer quality over...something or other.

I still find it weird that with most theaters using fully digital means of projection (they get the movie on a disk, and project it without film) that that digital disk doesn't get put up more often.

For big movies it is usually day and date with the release, but, really, every movie should be pirated at HD quality day one when there are thousands of disk copies of new movies littering the entire world.

I imagine Eva is slightly different, as it is only Japan, but the principle is the same.

According to a Cracked article I read, Japan loves to use woefully out-of-date technology.

I am now officially decided: Rebuild blows.

Each film just makes it more & more "look at my big, shiny cock." Flashy animation with absolutely no substance.

As much as I criticized the last film, it at least made some fucking sense. There's a huge gap in between the stories of 2 & 3. There are new characters, new types of Angel tech, people have changed sides, & old Evas have been elaborately sealed away. Shinji spends the whole movie asking people to explain any of this to him, but everyone just tells him to fuck right off. Probably because they were busy with the new plot, right? Lolnope. The first 25 minutes of the film is just "Nerv" doing a bunch of shit, you don't know what it is, they're just doing a bunch of shit. It takes longer than a whole episode of the original series until any information is dropped at all.

The rest of it at least gives you some shit to work with, but it takes Evangelion's bad habit of throwing out new jargon all of the time without the part where someone goes on a monologue explaining it all. So you effectively learn nothing, which is made worse by the fact that they don't bother to explain which things are different from the original series. If I can't follow what the Hell is going on, I have no clue how it's supposed to be "accessible to people who weren't fans of the original."

The rest of the scenes are mostly Kaworu teaching Shinji how to play the piano, which admittedly I could have watched a whole 95 minutes of without complaint, but the point is that the few "plot advancing" scenes there are, you can probably skip. Not much at all changes from what we knew from the trailers.

Not many Angels appear & the few that do are pretty uninspired, Shinji's okay but it's like they're trying too hard to make you like him, the new characters (whoever they are) are horribly cliched, & Kaworu is, of course, a fucking boss.

Plot: .5/10.
Characters: 3/10. 2 of which are Shinji.
Animation: 6/10.
Fights: 7/10.
Angels: 3/10.
Evas: 5/10.
Kaworu: 500000/10.

Kid wiped out part of humanity. Of course they hate him.

And any non-Kaworu Angel to appear after Zeruel is going to be lackluster. How do you follow that up?

Toji's sister seemed to get along with him just fine.

I'm going by Tv Tropes which only really said Kaworu would give him the time of day.
