A Tale of Two Cities

"Okay..."

*Shoulders drooped, she turns and leaves.*

Luna rocks up to the dam in her Megadeus, severely pissed off with anybody who would steal her father.

"I'm afraid I'm going to be a bit longer than that." She said with a small giggle. After a few minutes Zell returns to her room, showered, clean, and ready for the rest of the day. After getting dressed she exits her room and begins to head towards the kitchen.

*Thiera is putting the phone on the hook when they come in.*

T"Good morning, you 2."

L"I saw...things."

T"Okay?"

*It's the middle of the day & no one is there yet.*

Roger<I see...and do you happen to know who this "someone" is?>

Luna took her Megadeus and left it waiting in the subway nearby. She then went and began looking around the dam.

*Hitomi goes straight home then leaves a few minutes later going to the bookstore.*

Zell smiled, "Good morning to you as well." She then looks at Lilith, "What 'things'?"

L"You. In the nude."

T"I thought I told you to stop trying to seduce my android."

*Lilith heads over to the stove.*

L"I am preparing egg-based dishes. How does everyone want them?"

T"I'll have an omelet, I guess."

*The employee from before, on his break again, sees her & sighs, stomping out the cigarrette.*

<Let's just get this over with.>

*While she’s investigating the base of the dam, a man in a labcoat walks up the stairs leading to the observation deck.*

OOC: Write post hours ago. Never send it.

Zell blushed slightly, "How? I put on underwear in the bathroom, put a towel on, and got dressed in my room." She then looked at Thiera, "I didn't know I was, I swear."

*She holds out a sheet of paper with her name, address, and other crap you'd find on a resume. There is very little information on it.*

"I'd like to be employed here."

Topaz: <Can't say I do.>

T"Of course not."

*Lilith puts some eggs on the table & Thiera sits down to eat.*

*He stares at her with a look of horror on his face.*

Roger<Then how did you find out about the kidnapping?>

Topaz: <They left a note.>

Zell sat down defeated, "No really... I didn't."

"I believe I would enjoy working here."

Roger<And what does the note say?>

*He takes the paper.*

<Yeah...yeah, I'll process this immediately. Totally.>

*He walks into the book store.*

T"We've moved on from this subject."

*As they're eating, the lights go out.*

L"We are being attacked by zombies. I will have to kill you both before you can be infected. It's for your own good."

"No, you won't."

*Having the worst day ever, she just goes home.*

Zell looked in Thiera's general direction, "You taught her about zombies?"

Topaz: <"We have your brother. We want $1000. Meet us at the dam with the money. Come alone. The Greatest Villain, Beck". There's apparently a name I had missed.>

Roger<Unfortunately, I am quite familiar with Beck. I'll be right over.>

*A few minutes after hanging up, Roger knocks at her door.*

T"No, I don't know where she learns this crap. It's probably just a blown fuse. We use a LOT of power."

*She gets a flash light out of a drawer.*

*At her house, she finds a check on her kitchen table from Paradigm Industries, for $10,000. The description line or whatever it's called reads, "For excellent service to the community, & a little bonus for keeping quiet about it."*

*She stares at the cheque in shock then lets out a sigh in relief.*

[I guess this makes up for everything bad that happened today. But how does everything always get inside?]

"A lot of power on what?"

*She goes to open it.*

Topaz: <How did you know where I lived...? Who are you?>

Roger<It was forwarded to me through the Paradigm Head Office. Now, as I said, I've dealt with Beck a lot before. He requires...a special touch. Do you happen to have any leverage you can use in negotiations?>

*She presses a button & a discreet panel of wall slides away, becoming an elevator.*

T"Does anyone want to come with?"

Zell was about to say no when she realized she literally had nothing better to do, she couldn't paint in the dark. "Uh, sure, why not?" She said, fumbling her way to where Thiera was in the dark.
