In Zanarkand

[Easier said than done.]

*She heads over to the crane and begins looking for buttons or switches or whatever.*

Ingrid continues to silently pray, hoping that Hitomi doesn't press some big red button marked 'Destroy contents of cage'.

*Luna pulls some bullshit involving deflecting bullets by spinning a spear. When she gets close enough, she slices off some guy's leg & backs up.*

"I'm really not a violent person, you know!"

*Back on the crane front, most of the controls have been locked out. However, it occurs to Hitomi that the panel is still relatively fragile, & the mechanisms for power & control are underneath it.*

"If this is a dream please dream up a situation that does not involve me in a cage that acts as a death trap..." Ingrid whispers, just in case the Fayth were listening.

*Ark is standing around feeling mighty mad.*

*Ark is promptly shot in the leg Hitomi set on fire earlier. Luna keeps backing up, trying to avoid being surrounded, but another group of 3 guards is approaching them from behind as the jackass negator thing wizzes by Hitomi.*

"Hitomi, report!"

*Ark falls to the ground, groaning and grabbing his leg.*

Ark: <Ow ow ow. The pain. I am dying. Oh no, how terrible.>

So he can't feel fire, but a gunshot hurts... Ingrid shrugged, "Oh, Luna, by the way, there are 3 guards behind you."

*Taking advantage of Ark's pain, Hitomi takes one of his daggers and returns to the crane. She then hammering on the controls with the daggers pommel.*

*He bleeds out to death. Bummer.*

*He's still moaning in pain.*

*The panel breaks, exposing a bunch of wiring.*

"I don't think we're going to win this one!"

*As she speaks, she's sandwched between the 2 groups of guards. On one side of her is a bunch of crates, on the other side, the boat. 2 of the group of 5 break off, heading towards Ark.*

*Hitomi stares at the wiring unsure wether or not she should try to cut anything. She sets her book down then cuts a wire.*

*Ark uses a Potion and staggers to his feet. He sneers at the guards and suddenly dashes forward, slashing across one of them, stealing whatever he might be carrying, and kicking him away. He then slashes at the other one.*

*She gets a bad shock, but part of the panel sets on fire. Meanwhile, the confusion caused by Ark prompts a few of the guards to look towards him. Luna uses this opportunity to vault-kick through them.*

~Ark has obtained Napalm!~

*Ark continues to slash&steal at the surrounding soldiers.*

*Biting her lip she looks up at the crane then back to the control panel cutting a wire that's not on fire.*

*As there's only that one other guy, he gets another napalm. The negator speeds by between him & Luna. Luna stabs a guy in the chest, taking their guard problems down to the one Ark is dealing with & 3 of hers, not including the legless one writhing in pain. Hitomi gets another bad shock for a small plume of smoke.*

*Ark stabs him in the chest and dashes after the Negator, leaping towards it and hurling a grenade at it.*

*Hitomi bites down more on her lip and picks up her book and steps away from the control panel.*

[Nothing's working.]

*The Negator is hit by the explosion & stops momentarily. As the rest of the guards are taken out, Luna jumps back.*

"Careful with those things!"

*She gathers energy into her spear & stabs the Negator, destroying it instantly.*

"Us mage girls are back in business!"

*Hitomi stares at the smoking/burning controls, a lightning bolt from a Thundara touches down on it.*

Ingrid uses firaga on the spot where Ark used the grenade in an attempt to lower her cage even more.

*The crane lowers about a story while the control panel fully explodes off, revealing melted, shorting wires. The sirens start to waver, but another group of guards enters the premises, this time 5 from each side.*

Ingrid uses firaga on one group of guards. "You'd think that they would get bored dreaming up nothing but guards..."

*Hitomi casts Firaaga in the direction of one of the groups.*
